The All American: As a youngster growing up, Doug had two dreams. He was determined to become an All-American athlete and to achieve equally high success in his academic work. He worked hard both on the athletic field and in the classroom and helped lead his baseball team to a national title. At the end of that season, Doug was selected to the national All-American baseball team for a second consecutive year. He was also chosen to be part of a United States All-Star team which competed at Yankee Stadium. Shortly afterwards, Doug was awarded a full athletic and academic scholarship to college. Throughout his undergraduate days at the university, Doug continued to excel in baseball and academically. He was named Team Captain in his final year, earned a place on the Athletic Academic Honor Roll and was selected a member of the National Economics Honor Society.
Doug's Career As A Banker and Management Consultant: Doug knew that he couldn't play baseball forever, so he made the decision to pursue a serious business career. He did it with no less enthusiasm and dedication. He returned to graduate school, where he earned his MBA in finance. Utilizing that same desire to excel, Doug entered the world of finance, international banking and management consulting. He returned again to New York City, but this time in a suit and tie. Doug's efforts began to revolve around developing and negotiating sound business and marketing strategies, and helping major corporations manage their assets.
Successful in Business: Like most things in his life, Doug achieved outstanding success in the business world. As a banker and consultant he was responsible for lines of credit in the hundreds of millions of dollars. His contacts included such people as David Rockefeller, and he was even invited to dine at The White House. Eventually, Doug was offered an opportunity to come back to the west coast as part of the management team of a major banking institution. He jumped at the chance and settled in Moraga where he has been ever since.
Doug's Focus and Determination: The Bay area life-style immediately appealed to Doug. He could spend more time with his family, and devote service time to both charitable and sports-oriented organizations. Doug also began looking for a new outlet for his skills and determination. He chose real estate because it gave him the chance to establish a local business by his own standards and help families and individuals personally, rather than only serving corporate clients. The vast majority of people who meet Doug find him remarkably easy to talk to and work with. "One of my strongest attributes is that I listen well and remember what clients discuss with me. I think they realize that I care about the results I obtain and I am truly driven to succeed for them."
